Red Envelope

Send a Red Envelope
>
> Dear Family and Friends,
>
> I am passing this along, because I thought perhaps you would like to particpate in Red Envelope Day, on March 31, 2009.
>
> Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to
>
> President Barack Obama
> The White House
> 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
> Washington , D.C. 20500
>
> On the back, write the following message.
> This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
> It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.
>
> We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.
>
> Put it in the mail, and send it. Don't forget to put your name and address on it or they will just pitch them out!
>
> Forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [only in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.
>
> It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.
>
> Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, "Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause..] That's the first thing that I'd do."
>
> An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over
>
>
>

Tips and tricks for Big families

We have 6 people in our family! It's always a race or a competition who sits where, who sits by who, etc....so I have a tip....and I'm open to other ideas as well.

When Kameron (now 4) was a baby the other 3 kids always fought over who got to sit by him at meal time. So, I would alternate days on the calendar and whoever's "day" it was, got to sit by the high chair. So, a few months ago I remembered that when the kids were always fighting over who sits by dad! Yeah, I know--not me...oh well....it is what it is....I birthed them and feed them and wait on then and make sure they have what then need, but there's no denying it....they ALL 4 like dad better....'cause he's fun and nice and I'm mean and enforce things and am a disciplinarian! So, we alternate days on the calendar....then when it's their "day" they get to set the table too.....AND they get to decide who sits where! They LOVE this! And, honestly, sometimes I'm not consistent--like tonight for example....haven't really been writing on the calendar lately....so I asked who wanted to set the table....it was literally a RACE as to who answered first.....they actually wanted to set the table b/c then they are the ones who gets to tell everyone else where to sit!!! Wish I had thought of this YEARS ago....they WANT to help!!!!

Ok....for my first blogging day, I kinda went on Post overload! Will anyone really read this stuff??

The Blogging Inspiration and our Greater Purpose!

This is the whole reason I wanted to start blogging....when we finished this shirt, I had visions of it being on our (nonexistent at the time) blog!
The story:
I have been praying that somehow Lil' Bow Peeps could be some type of ministry or serve a greater purpose in life than JUST having really cute hairbows...(to match ANYTHING) and really cute accessories (shirts, etc). So, Lord, what and how could this business be a ministry???
Well, 2 weekends ago we were an exhibitor at the Hearts-at-Home Nat'l Conference. We had a blast and we were in our target market-moms! We had the awesome opportunity to meet some fabulous moms! On Friday night a lady came to us and told us that in 13 days (from March 13th) she would be traveling to China to adopt their daughter. On their Gotcha day they dress the little girls up in the Chinese red silk dresses and she wanted a headband to match. We (Jody and I) felt so honored and that we were FINALLY serving a greater purpose than just supplyingh her with a cute headband! So, I made her a cute black headband with a red flower on it and bagged it up for her to pick up on Saturday! Well, she came by Saturday to say she didn't forget about us, but she didn't have any cash on her. I was busy helping a customer and Jody told her to just not worry about it, we would give it to her. Jody's brother and sister-in-law have adopted 3 children from Russia and Jody knew how she felt and what she was going through and we were just glad to have been a part of their very special day, etc.....we were all 3 crying! I'm tearing up just typing this! We just feel so privilaged that we get to be a part (in a round about way)...of one of the most special days of their lives! The sad thing is, we don't even know her name....I hope she emails us a picture so we can correspond! I've been praying we would find her! Then another lady came by who is adopting a little girl from China and asked us to make a Gotcha t-shirt for their daughter for the "Gotcha Day"! ......our greater purpose has been realized! It's truely an answer to prayer! We are so excited to be able to share in the joy of one of God's greatest blessings!!!!

Some cute and creative copying!

So, my good friend Sara gave me a pict of something similar to this (it was an initial in a shadow box on black card stock and with colored pencils). We "made over" the teacher's lounge (summer '08) and I decided this would be a great addition!! So, I painted a HUGE canvas and my wonderful husband cut all of the pencils...It was a collaborative effort....used modge podge and walla! I think it really turned out cute and the teacher's love it!

First Blog Ever!

YIPPEE...My first blog ever!! I've had good intentions to start blogging and took the plunge today! I quit scrapbooking about 5 years ago b/c I have 4 kids and I'm too "busy", so I'm going to blog....probably very randomly, but it's blogging none-the-less!
I made this today for an anniversary gift! It makes a very cute wedding gift too!
